((I'm not quite sure what equipment Regalia has available, so I used discretion- hope it's okay.))
Thane heard a whistle blow, and he dashed away from the two posts he had been waiting between. He rounded a post, between the two ropes on either side of him that served as barriers, and pulled out his sword when he saw his two opponents- training dummies of Gnawers,. He slashed a diagonal line into the face of the nearest, which would cause a living enemy to bleed to death in minutes. The second, he stabbed through. The effect would be instant if the large rat were not made of wood and dead weeds.
He continued on, meeting two more, as well as a human dummy. The reasons for the rats were obvious, but as for humans- you never know who could be a traitor. He sliced through the two rats' heads in a single blow with his twisted blade, and chopped an arm and a leg off of the human. Continuing, since the human would not be able to follow him, he met his last group- five Gnawers, and three human dummies. He quickly dispatched them, and continued on to the end.
At the end of the ropes, was a circle drawin into the dirt- and a living, breathing person in the middle. Thane, luckily, did not recognize the human. The man had a spear, and a shield, as well as a crude breastplate. He sneered at Thane, presumably expecting to win against a boy.
Thane, not wasting time on words, jumped at the man, and came down hard with a blow. The man barely had time to block it with his shield before Thane came around for another slash. Jumping back, he jabbed at Thane with his spear, which was knocked away by Thane's unique twisted sword, and was rewarded by a good chunk of his shield being hacked off.
Swearing, the man threw it to the side. Now that he had both hands, he would be faster and have more powerful strikes, but he couldn't afford to have Thane in close range. He only managed to keep the teenager out of range for a minute, for Thane quickly brought up his leg, while the man was open, and kicked him square in the chest, knocking him down. Thane jumped on top of the man, and held his sword to his throat. "Fine," spat the man.
Thane stood, and walked over to a bench. He took out his water container, and drank from it. He took his shirt off, though it was already sweaty, revealing a bit of muscle and some training scars. Thane watched for the next person to attempt the record- of four minutes in all.
