Age: 17
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Appearance:
Eleanor was born in the Underland, and as a result, she has incredibly pale skin, that contrasts rather brutally with her dark brown hair and dark blue eyes. She's not terribly tall; just over five feet, and quite slim. She's pretty and frail to the eye, but the eye deceives. She's very strong, perhaps not physically, but her strength of will gives her a get deal of power. Her hands are scarred with thin, pale scars from swordplay and speckles from sparks from the smithy where she's an apprentice.Personality:
She gets a bit of grief from people due to her slimness. Her teacher, Michael, jokes with her that if the Gnawers ever caught her, they'd use her for a toothpick rather than eat her, and her parents nearly consider her a helpless flower due to her small stature.
Eleanor is naturally creative and intelligent, if somewhat stifled by her parents and grandparents. Her grandparents lived in the Overland, and so they raised their children based on those somewhat backward ideals, and so she was raised the same way. Because of this, she's barely able to go out and learn fighting skills or flying skills, or have a job. She fiercely defies her parents picture of a perfect daughter, which is a quiet, thoughtful girl who excels at housework, sewing, and raising children.History:
Yeah, no, not gonna happen.
Eleanor, due to her smothering upbringing, is a bit awkward in social situations and rather shy. Her intelligence and natural dry wit tends to further alienate her from her fellows, besides her bond Auto and her one friend, Edward.
Eleanor's family is considered rather weird by the surrounding families because of their backwards views on the roles of men and women. While most of the human population in the Underland have embraced equal rights between women and men, Eleanor's family stiffly maintains that women shouldn't fight or do anything generally associated with men. As such, Eleanor was trained in the beginning to be a proper lady, and not a Underland girl. She was taught sewing, cooking, piano, art, dancing, and little else. This was mainly her mother's influence, as her father was happy to allow her to have the same freedoms as the other girls.Codeword: dollars
Each freedom was a hard-earned battle. Her apprenticeship with Michael was the first "exception" that her mother allowed, and this occurred at the age of eight. Next was sword fighting, then exploring, wearing something other than dresses, and finally getting bonded to Autolycus. While her freedom is still far from complete, her recent individuality is the most freedom she's had in her life.
